What is Hypnotherapy?

In Hypnosis or “Trance”, your brain frequency slows down to 4-7Hz. This is the pleasant dreamy state that you
experience upon first awakening in the morning
or drifting off to sleep at night.
In this frequency your mind is susceptible to constructive suggestions, and by giving your subconscious mind
these constructive suggestions
you can change your life for the better in many ways.
Having been trained in the original Techniques from the Father of Modern Hypnotherapy, James Braid, by the
Australian Academy of Hypnosis,
owned and operated by Mind Motivation.
This type of Hypnosis has been successfully documented from that era knowing that it works.

Hypnosis is an altered state of mind where the subconscious mind is in control while the conscious mind is detached.
The conscious mind is that part of the mind that is rational and analytical. It is unfortunately shaped by experiences
and influenced by a number of sources
including the media which are present in one’s daily life.
The subconscious mind on the other hand operates in an almost automatic manner and can be instructed
to act in the best interests
of that individual without obstruction from outside influences.
Therefore hypnotherapy targets the subconscious mind to bring about change from within.
It is important at this point to be made aware that this is clinical hypnotherapy and not stage hypnosis.
Furthermore, as the change is brought about by the individual themselves the instructions
to the subconscious mind
will only be acted on if they are beneficial to the person – ie. People won’t do things that are harmful to them.

Myths of Hypnosis

  • Hypnosis can make you do things that are against your will.
    Definitely not true! You are aware of what is happening and what the Hypnotist is saying.
  • You can get stuck in Hypnosis.
    False. Even if the Hypnotist ended the session and left the room, you would open your eyes in your own time and realise the session was finished.
  • When Hypnotised you don’t hear anything.
    False. You are awake and aware, but very relaxed. It wouldn’t be beneficial if you didn’t hear what the Hypnotist had to say would it?
